Breast Reduction Procedures Are a Great Benefit for Back Pain

Large breasted women sometimes find themselves suffering with back pain and other issues directly caused by the heaviness of their bust. In these instances a breast reduction is a much-needed procedure to reduce breast tissue and lift the breasts.
The breast reduction procedure is a fairly standard procedure performed by plastic surgeons. The standard breast reduction procedure uses an anchor-shaped incision going around the areola, extending downward and then along the natural curve in the crease under the breast. Excess glandular tissue, fat and skin are removed, and the nipple and areola are brought up higher to a new position.
Skin from both sides of the breast is brought down around the areola, creating the new contour of the breast. If the areola is larger than normal, it may be reduced during the breast reduction procedure. During a breast reduction, patients might opt to have saline or silicone implants placed.
Once the breast reduction procedure is done, patients go home to recover for up to 2 weeks or more. Breast reduction is a serious procedure. The procedure itself shows immediate results, due to the large volume of tissue removed. Once the healing process is finished, patients find themselves enjoying their new silhouette after recovery.
While there are scars, over time these scars fade sufficiently and are largely unnoticeable while wearing a bra or bikini. The benefits of a breast reduction are two-fold. Patients find their breasts don't weigh as much and therefore no longer cause strains on the back and neck. Another benefit is that patients also begin to feel better about their overall body image.
