Dr. Thomas T. Nguyen
Thomas T. Nguyen, M.D, the medical director of The Institute of Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery, is a highly respected, board-certified plastic surgeon with over 15 years of experience. He has contributed his knowledge to multiple publications. Dr. Nguyen is a former Assistant Professor of Surgery at USC Medical School. He is caring, compassionate, and dedicated to providing his patients with the best care possible, and beautiful, natural looking results.
Education and training
Dr. Nguyen graduated Magna cum Laude from Millsaps College, and received numerous honors for academic excellence including "Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities" and "Outstanding Pre-Med Student of the Year." He completed post-graduate training with the University of Texas Medical Branch and the Mississippi School of Medicine.
The doctor completed fellowships with Shriners Burn Institute of Plastic Surgery at The Medical University of South Carolina and the National Institute of Health. During that time, he developed a passion for helping burn victims, and began intensive study of this branch of reconstructive surgery. His tireless work has contributed significantly to burn research; he has published nine book chapters, and twenty-three articles on the subject, as well as giving multiple lectures across the United States and Canada.
Professional experience and affiliations
Dr. Nguyen, a native of Texas, relocated to California after the University of Southern California recruited him as an Assistant Professor of Surgery. He went on to serve as Associate Director with The University of Southern California Burn Center and the Los Angeles County Burn Center, during which time he continued his research work as well as teaching.
Known as a kind, compassionate, and artistically skilled surgeon, Dr. Nguyen continues to share his knowledge and expertise. He is the founder and Medical Director of The Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery, which is located in Fountain Valley, CA serving residents throughout Orange County and beyond. His uncompromising dedication to quality and passion for helping his patients has earned him great respect among his peers. He maintains active membership in the following professional organizations:

Dr. Han Hoang
Dr. Hoang developed her passion for Plastic Surgery at a young age, after seeing Operation Smile Documentary in 1989. She came to the United States at the age of fifteen to study and to pursue her dream. She has lived in many parts of the country but fell in love with Southern California during her Plastic Surgery training at UCLA and now calls Orange County her home. She is passionate, compassionate, and focused to provide her patients with the most beautiful and natural results that fit their active and healthy lifestyles.
Education and Training
Dr. Hoang graduated magna cum laude from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelors Degree in Biochemistry and Masters Degree in Chemistry at age 21. She then attended Georgetown University School of Medicine, one of the oldest medical schools in the country. She went onto UCSF Medical Center for her internship, followed by general surgery residency at NYU Medical Center in New York. She was then recruited to UCLA Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency. During the intense years of training, Dr. Hoang worked under the world’s leading experts in complex reconstructive surgery. She also had the opportunity to learn state of the art aesthetic surgery from some of the best Beverly Hills’ surgeons. After UCLA Plastic Surgery training, she received a full scholarship from the Korean College of Cosmetic Surgery for further training in Asian Aesthetic Surgery and is currently an active fellow of the college.
Dr. Hoang has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has presented her work at several regional, national, and international meetings.

As an avid swimmer, who competed in and won multiple competitions during her youth, Dr. Hoang appreciates the importance of having an active lifestyle for one’s confidence, beauty, and overall well-being. She strives to strike a perfect balance between form and function in her work, to shorten her patients’ downtime and get them back expeditiously to “carpe the California diem”.
